Most event photography focuses on the finished product—keynote speakers, networking receptions, polished trade show floors. But this January, Scott Spitzer Photography took on a unique PA Convention Center trade show setup photography project. The team documented the complete transformation process for PCMA‘s Convening Leaders conference, one of the largest gatherings of meeting planners in the country.
From Loading Dock to Exhibition Floor
SourceOne Events, the general service contractor for the event, hired Scott to capture the entire transformation. The Pennsylvania Convention Center went from empty hall to professional exhibition space. Documentation began at the loading docks, where tractor trailers arrived with booth installations. Forklifts carefully maneuvered materials into the hall. Labor unions began the complex work of building the trade show infrastructure.
The process revealed the choreography and expertise behind creating a professional conference environment. Marketing managers worked alongside union crews to assemble individual booths. Each booth represented months of planning and design work. What started as pallets and crates became a fully realized exhibition floor ready for thousands of attendees.

PCMA’s 70th Anniversary in Philadelphia
This wasn’t just any trade show. PCMA’s 70th anniversary carried special significance for Philadelphia, where the organization was founded. The city is preparing for FIFA World Cup matches and America’s 250th anniversary in 2026. Hosting this milestone event made the timing particularly meaningful for the region’s event industry.
Aerial Perspective: PA Convention Center Trade Show Setup Photography
Scott brought in Grgo Sevo for aerial documentation once the floor was built. The goal was to capture the scale and energy of the setup. Grgo used both a standard DJI drone and an FPV racing drone. The aerial footage provided dynamic perspectives that ground-level photography couldn’t achieve. It showcased the full scope of the exhibition space.
The Complete Visual Story
The final image collection tells a complete story. It shows the arrival of raw materials and the skilled labor building the infrastructure. Marketing teams brought their brands to life. Conference attendees explored the finished trade show floor. It’s a perspective most people never see. The images capture hours of work and coordination that happen before the first attendee walks through the doors.

For Scott Spitzer Photography, projects like this demonstrate the breadth of Philadelphia corporate event photography. The team documents polished keynote presentations and behind-the-scenes construction that makes conferences possible. They bring the same attention to detail and understanding of compelling visual storytelling.
