2022 Year In Review

Home » Blog » 2022 Year In Review

Well, as we hoped for in last year’s round-up, 2022 brought the heat with Philly event photography. We reconnected with some old friends and made some amazing new photography partnerships! Throughout the year we worked a lot as the event photography world continued to rebound from the body blows it took from all the COVID-19 shutdowns.

We started the year off strong by working with our long-time event photography partner Fox Chase Cancer Center for a “Don’t Miss Your Mammogram” campaign. The event was intended to help reaffirm the position that women — many of whom had taken to neglecting their annual mammogram because of the pandemic — should get to their doctors for an exam.

As the weather started warming, so did our new event photography partnerships! A few fun groups we had the opportunity to work with for the first time were the Avenue Two Travel Conference, American College of Mohs Surgery, Title Alliance, the Greater and Greener Conference, Gift of Life Family House, and more!

For our new partnership with Avenue Two Travel Conference, we had the pleasure of photographing beautiful venues like JG Skyhigh at the Four Seasons. When we worked with The American Society for Mohs Histotechnology we brought our cameras to the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown for an incredibly vital three-day conference about healthcare and the skin cancer surgery field. The Title Alliance Tailgate Happy Hour brought us to Citizens Bank Park prior to a Phillies game for some fun!

We kept up the hectic pace with an eye-opening ride-along for HMP Global in Philadelphia’s new AR-2 unit, a specialized EMS unit focused on preventing opioid overdoses in Kensington.

The Greater and Greener Conference was one of our largest and most complicated productions to date. We had a team traveling all over the city, photographing indoor and outdoor events over the conference’s four day span.

As the summer rolled in we worked with the awesome folks at SteegeThomson Communications on an event at Gift of Life Howie’s House in Philly as well as our friends at 919 Marketing to promote Primo Hoagies alongside Philadelphia Eagles favorite Brandon Graham!

From September through the end of the year we had a true mixture of all the things we do. Intellus Worldwide brought us back into the fold for a healthcare summit while our new friends at Startup CPG had us out to photograph their unique tradeshow at the Philadelphia Convention Center. Startup CPG helps spotlight small companies striving to make better, more healthy prepackaged food. So we got to see all that up close and personal.

Fox Chase Cancer Center reconnected once again for their fundraising wine auction In Vino Vita at Vie on Broad. Penn Medicine had us out for their ITMAT Symposium, an event we have happily been associated with since 2009! The Galien Foundation challenged our capacity for the third year in a row. They required a team of eleven (nine photographers, one digital technician, and one assistant) to capture their forum at the New York Alexandria Center. Their black tie awards gala took place at the always amazing American Museum of Natural History.

To finish out the year, we had a few fun new shoots! We had the opportunity to photograph the Calder Gardens groundbreaking on the Parkway, the Reuters Pharma Awards at the Crystal Team Room, and the Frontage Labs Holiday Party at the Valley Forge Casino. But, one of our most interesting collaborations of the year was with the American Institute of Architects. AIA partnered with the Philadelphia School District for a few days of in-classroom engineering and design workshops.

2022 was a great return to normalcy for us here at Scott Spitzer Photography and Philly event photography as a whole. Here’s to hoping 2023 is even better!
